How much does social media marketing cost?
Everyone’s social media needs are different. To learn about what you need, I offer a free 15-minute phone call. I listen to what you need and see if I can help. We’ll discuss your goals, challenges, timeline, budget. Then I can send you an estimate.
Will you teach a private group?
Yes, I have extensive experience teaching groups both online and in-person. I offer classes and interactive workshops that are highly customized for your needs.
From boards of directors, to marketing departments, to business owners and staff, I’ve coached many types of groups and would enjoy hearing about yours.
Do you work with social media beginners?
Yes! I enjoy working with clients who are new to social media (as well as more experienced users.). I’m a patient, methodical teacher and find it very satisfying to offer guidance in this complex arena of social media marketing for businesses.
Are you a social media manager who will maintain my social media on an ongoing basis?
No, I do not offer ongoing social media management where I post on your behalf.
Why? I deliver the most value with my expertise by training you and/or your staff how to use your social media platforms so that you are empowered to do it yourself or be fully educated when you hand it off to someone else.
It’s critically important on social media platforms that your voice and style come directly from you or someone within the business.
That insider perspective and personality is what attracts followers.

Yes, I can help you! I specialize in social media marketing for businesses, nonprofit organizations and entrepreneurs.

I’m Karen Kefauver and I help professionals choose the best social media platforms for their target audience, develop a social media marketing strategy and provide social media marketing training. I teach social media classes and webinars on Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram and more.
Plus, I am a content provider, write bios, web content, feature stories and blog posts.
I need a social media speaker. Do you give online presentations?
Yes! I love public speaking and my years of in-person teaching skills have translated very well to Zoom presentations, which are lively, informative and engaging.

Do I get any return from my investment on social media?
The best way to track your return on investment (ROI) is 1.) by tracking the analytics provided by each social media platform, 2.) having Google analytics installed on your website, 3.) having a Facebook pixel on your website and 4.) analyzing the data from your ads.
I’ve been teaching social media for 10 years and it continues to be challenging to get exact numbers for your ROI for organic reachI.
Why? For example, if someone reads a review on your Facebook page, or just visits your page and then hires you, you may never know where that person found you.
That’s why it is valuable to survey customers and find out how they learned about you.
Do I need social media for my business?
Yes, you do need social media for your business. It is essential. Even if you use just ONE social media platform, you need to be out there in the virtual world beyond your website.
Your website can not engage current and potential customers the way that social media can. Your competitors are using social media and you must too!
How do I protect my privacy on social media?
Protecting your privacy is a real concern. Facebook in particular has faced international scrutiny, dozens of lawsuits and Congressional hearings to address its violations of indviduals’ privacy. Data mining has allowed Facebook to grow more profitable by taking that personal information and using it to develop highly targeted ads.
Not only Facebook, but Apple, Google and virtually all Big Tech companies are guilty of privacy trespassing. Each of these platforms has settings, some incredibly complex, that can help protect privacy. I can help you with that.
How do I get more followers on social media?
There primary way to get more followers is to post quality content! Think of your social media platforms like a magazine or newspaper. You subscribe because the articles and photos are amusing, informative, helpful. They speak to issues in your life that you find challenging and rewarding. Same for your social media platforms.
Other ways to build your followers is offering freebies, running contests, finding influencers and advertising.
When is the best time to post on social media?
The best way to determine this is by looking at the analytics that are available if you have social media business accounts. You can get specific data, on your Facebook business page, for instance, about the best days and times to post for maximum viewing and engagement.
How often should I post on social media?
There is a wide range of answers to this question because the frequency of posting is different for each platform. You do want to learn best practices for each social media platform.
For instance, for a large Twitter account, there may be more than 10 posts a day! Or for a Facebook business page, perhaps just three times a week.
